about

I am happy to present you my second studio album "Ω" (pronounced Omega).

In 2010 I acquired three new Hang like instruments aka "Handpans"; two Halos in the Aegean and DXD tunings (thank you Pantheon Steel) and one Bells from Bellart in the Kaffa tunning. Additionally, together with instrument maker Richard Bowring, we have conceptualized a monochord with a concave side that can be placed on the human body for sound bathing sessions.

New compositions were flowing through my heart like a running river and in October 2010 I entered studio to record them. My efforts resulted in a 14 track album (plus one hidden track). In most of the tracks I play on two or three handpans simultaneously. The CD also features one track with vocalist Johanne Staiquly and theremin elements by Danai Nielsen.

Following a more daring approach to my debut album I employ more sound effects such as delays, reverb, reverse sounds and field recordings of trains, conversations, and nature sounds obtained from my travels around the world.

One track is played by "Hyades" the nymphs of rain according to the Greek mythology. I left a Halo under the rain and the moment was captured with a microphone positioned inside the interior of the instrument.

The mood of the music is relaxing and inspires internal journeying.

I would like to thank Alex and Nikos form Unreal Studioz for the sound design, Yannis from Sweetspot Mastering House, Topotheque Design Collective for the album design, Johanne Staiquly for dressing one track with her singing and the graphic design work and Danai Nielsen for the theremin sounds. Also, I would like to thank my family and dear friends (you know who you are) for their continuous support and all of you who support my music.

Thank you all for your support.

In gratitude,

Spyros.

about

In 2007 I suffered a burnout after living & working in London for 4 years. The decision to change my way of living, guided ... more me to the Hang. Those two factors changed my life inside out.

Since then a lot time has passed & a lot of things have happened: 2 studio albums, a contribution to an OST, a few documentaries & meetings with beautiful souls.

I let my feelings flow through sound.
